I am a qualified Nutritionist and Dietitian and a member of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute (INDI).  I have worked in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics for over 20 years and in 2007 established Morgan Nutrition, a Nutrition and Dietetic Consultancy Service in DundalkCo. Louth. 

My Philosophy

When it comes to promoting good nutrition, my philosophy is simple – no fad diets or demonising particular food or food groups required.  Instead, I promote healthy eating choices which don’t scrimp on taste and are sustainable going forward.  Despite popular belief, there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach when it comes to providing nutrition advice.  I offer individual and tailored advice to each client and guarantee a friendly and professional service at all times.

I am passionate about all aspects of nutrition and am qualified to advise on many different aspects of nutrition across all ages – please click here for more information on the areas I advise on. 

However, I think it’s safe to say that I have a BIG interest in everything regarding Gut Health and in particular, in the use of the low FODMAP diet in the management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Functional Gut Disorders (FGD).  In 2013, I completed specialist training for Dietitians on the LOW FODMAP diet for the management of Irritable Bowel Disease and other Functional Gut Disorders, in King’s College, London (KCL) which a world leader in the area of the low FODMAP diet & IBS.  Over the past four years, I have advised many, many IBS patients on how to implement this revolutionary dietary approach to very good effect.

In 2015, I was one of only two Irish Dietitians who attended Gastrodiet, the 1st ever International Conference on FODMAPS led by the Australian Monash University team in Prato, Italy and I am returning to Prato in November for Gastrodiet 2017.  This allows me hear all the latest research from Gastroenterologists and Dietitians working at the cutting edge of this very exciting area and to incorporate new learnings into my work with patients. 

Having also completed specialist study in the area of Sports Nutrition from 2007-2009 under the very prestigious International Olympic Committee (IOC), I love the area of performance nutrition. Since specialising in this area of nutrition in 2009, I have enjoyed working with sportspeople across many disciplines and at all levels to achieve their sporting goals.
